A few must-sees for your tropical itinerary:

About an hour’s drive northwest of the retreat, Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park is home to two active volcanoes and 150 miles of hiking trails. You can walk through a fern forest into a cavernous lava tube or stare at a steaming caldera (volcanic crater) while reading a placard about the legend of Pele, the Hawaiian fire goddess of the volcano (

En route to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park via the Volcano Highway, you’ll pass Hilo Coffee Mill. Stop in to sample a variety of rich brews from nearby farms at the tasting bar or buy a batch of beans (

If you head 7 miles up the coastal Kalapana-Kapoho Road (a left out of Kalani’s entrance), you’ll reach Wai’opae Tidepools Marine Life Conservation District, considered one of the best snorkeling spots in Hawaii. Snorkel and flipper rentals are available at Kalani.

Huffington Post rated Kalani one of the top 5 Eco Resorts for Yoga Lovers and USA Today rated Kalani one of the 10 best yoga retreats anywhere!  With so many recommendations, we are honored to be presenting a chakra balancing yoga retreat in May 2018 at Kalani Resort featuring Marie Green.  This is the ultimate eco resort which operates its own sustainable agricultural gardens – the source for your 3 meals each day.  The nonprofit resort is powered by solar panels, boasts energy-efficient architecture and lights and recycles 80% of its waste.  In this environment we will practice yoga twice/day, learn about the chakras and why their optimal performance is crucial to your best life.

Located near the eastern tip of the Big Island of Hawaii, Kalani is also Hawaii’s largest retreat center, encompassing 120 acres of captivating island paradise. Accommodations range from lodge rooms with private or shared bath to screened bungalows and cottages. Other amenities include a 25-meter lap pool, a heated saltwater pool, spa services and dining served three times a day at The Lanai. Kalena Beach, considered one of the world’s top secluded beaches, is just minutes away.

We will enjoy a deep, transformational morning Yoga Flow gratitude practice together, varying other elements with our asana such as chanting, mudras and meditation.  Join us in this beautiful location to learn and restore your true essence through alignment.
